A Born Again,converted from Islam,is running for President!

Dr Diomande Mamadou from Miami,Florida is running to be his country's president in Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast).This African nation is one of the richest country in the continent. It is the No1 producer of cacao and one of the leading producers of coffee from the world.After many years of peace and prosperity,the country is in the middle of civil war,poverty and corruption.
Dr Mamadou said he wants to bring a change to his country with the help of God.

Why I'm writing this to my prayer partners?

It's because,by God's grace,I had the privilege to bring the presidential candidate to a living faith in Jesus!His parents are Muslims and he also was practicing Islam.Now he is a born again believer ready to lead his country by the power,wisdom and righteousness of God,and he asks me that our prayer partners pray for him that the will of God be done in his life.
"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people"Prov 14:34.
The election is going to be held in November,2009 and He has a great support from a large part of the population specially the young generation.20 thousand people are expected to welcome him at the International airport in the capital Abidjan and the airport may be temporarily closed when he will go from where he lives here in the US.

He needs our prayer that he may be a living witness of God's salvation to his country which has a population of about 20 million with Muslims in the majority!
